Philippe Thiers

Louis’s son, Philippe Thiers, is gifted with a great talent for speeches and an exceptional amount of energy.

Cheeky and good-looking, some give him the nickname of “Alain Delon”. We see him on TV at the age of 14, speaking in the microphone at the Bulls Club assemblies in front of thousands of members. We see him in Méjanes, by Johnny Hallyday’s side, share a few words with him during the shooting of D’où viens-tu Johnny ?. Philippe is the one to take care of his horse “Johnny”, left in Méjanes.

Philippe is a great enthusiast. Very close to César Giron, he spends a lot of time with him during his stays in Méjanes.

He even becomes novillero, a young torero.

We are in 1967. Philippe Thiers is 17 and enters the Ricard firm as a commercial manager. This brilliant man will, just like his father, pursue two lives; One dedicated to the Ricard company and the other serving his passion. Working his way up as co-director at the Ricard factory in Bordeaux, Pau Ricard gives him the Regional Direction of Toulouse in 1980.

He will develop with his friend Palomo, Bulls Clubs in the southwest region, and signs an agreement with La fédération des courses Landaise. This allows the UCTPR (Paul Ricard Bulls Club Union) to become a strength in France’s Bullfighting world. When his father, Louis Thiers, passes away, Philippe takes over as president.

Philippe Thiers was always a great admirer of the two legends that were his father and his uncle Paul.

Alongside Palomo, Louis Delavalles, and all the others – that recognise themselves – Philippe managed to bring together and fill with enthusiasm all the people that crossed his path and lived with him.
